Let’s ‘dig deep’ to sustain our school

We have an extraordinary opportunity to transform Northern Lights

School’s future. In partnership with energy experts at the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA), we are applying for New York State regional economic development funding to insulate our building’s roof and replace our outdated, malfunctioning fuel oil boiler with a geothermal system. We will only afford these improvements if we raise $150,000 from generous supporters to meet grant match requirements and fulfill the project budget.

We cannot do this without your help!

Give Today

Our prospects for funding partnership are bright: New York State is currently prioritizing both child care and energy efficiency initiatives and we qualify for renewable energy rebates. We’ve been working towards these efficiency goals with an energy audit, spray foam insulation in the basement, and an emergency heat pump

installation. The stars are aligning in our favor, and now is the time to act. Your contributions will help us leverage additional funding from the state and beyond. Our future geothermal heat system will cozy our classrooms, soothe us on the hot days of summer, and free us to better use funds once spent on fuel oil. Due to our urgent needs, installation is on track for Summer 2024, and we would begin to benefit immediately thereafter.

An insulated roof and geothermal system will

• meet our minimum temperature requirements and let us stay open in the coldest months,

• eliminate at least $25,000 in fuel costs each year,

• free funds to better support our beloved teachers,
• let us offer tuition assistance to more families,
• cut emissions by that of ~5 cars each year, and
• provide an example of sustainability for others to follow.

Your contribution during Fall 2023 is most helpful as we demonstrate financial standing within multiple funding applications. Thank you!

Gifts are tax deductible and can be matched by your employer.
